Died
Mrs. Almeda J. Wood, who was born in Indiana in October, 1837, died Sunday, December 28th, 1919, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Grant, at Taneyville. She was the widow of J. J. Wood, who died some eighteen years ago since which time she has made her home most of the lime with Mrs. Grant. She had lived in Taney county for 40 years or more, and was known to most of the older settlers. She was the mother of ten children nine of whom are living, and five of whom were with her at the time of her death. Mrs Nettie Miles and Mrs. Dorcas Matthews of Swan, Mrs. Ella Grant and J. W. Wood of Taneyville and Chas. S. Wood of Swan were those present. Mrs. Louisa Sorrels and James Wood reside in Oklahoma, Bart Wood in Little Rock and Emma Wood in Kansas. Mrs. May Walker, who died about five years ago, was the only one to die before the mother. Mrs. Wood’s burial service was conducted by Rev. Frank Steward.
Newspaper clipping has errors. The daughter she was living with was Ella Grant. And she had eleven children. George Nelson Wood, who died at age fourteen, was not mentioned.
