John Jules Paudois
September 20, 1963–May 23, 2021
John passed on May 23, 2021 from cancer, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Medford, OR on September 20, 1963 to Alvin John Paudois and Barbara Mae Vance.
John spent his youth in Medford enjoying motocross racing and baseball. In 1995, John suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. After recovery, he moved to Spokane, WA and was lovingly cared for by his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Deb McQuade for 17 years. Bill taught John the skill of auto and truck mechanics, as well as truck refrigeration repair. They worked side by side for many years.
In July 2014 John moved to the Sheltercare Uhlhorn program in Eugene where he lived independently until he passed. He loved his apartment and the friends he made with fellow residents, always lending a helping hand and a smile. John’s constant companion was his beloved dog, Shy. He was also a lifelong Seattle Seahawks fan and enjoyed Oregon Duck football.
John is lovingly remembered by his siblings; Monique Paudois (Bobby), Jan Beardsley (Grant), Jodi Bell (Mark), Mike Paudois (Sally), and Michelle Groleau (Wes). He was uncle and great uncle to many nephews and nieces. John was especially close to Michael and Alisha Heakin. John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill McQuade, and his nephew Johnathon Cox.
John’s motto, to live “one day at a time,” is a gentle reminder to treasure each day and each other.
A memorial service is scheduled in Medford on July 16, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family is especially grateful for the compassion and care provided by the Pete Moore Hospice House.
